PT Industri Jamu Dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk. through its flagship health supplement product Kuku Bima Health Supplement provided Free Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery for 60 patients in Belu, East Nusa Tenggara. The surgeries were held at the Marianum Halilulik Catholic Hospital on 24 to 27 January 2024.
In partnership with the Rotary Club of Semarang Bojong, Sido Muncul provided Rp533 million in assistance. The assistance package was handed symbolically by Sido Muncul Director Irwan Hidayat to President of Rotary Club of Semarang Bojong, Lili Santoso.
Irwan said the assistance was aimed to support families with children with cleft lip.
“We empathise with the situation of children with cleft lip disorder, where they have difficulties eating and low self-esteem. That is why we are providing free cleft lip surgeries for 60 patients in Belu, East Nusa Tenggara,” said Irwan.
“The assistance is one of Sido Muncul’s contribution to tackle health issues in Indonesia. We hope that our free cleft lip surgery campaign can inspire others to do the same, given that the number of patients is still high. We hope that wider participation can help many more patients,” Irwan added.
Sido Muncul started the free cleft lip surgery campaign in 2018 and has been held across Indonesia. This is Sido Muncul’s first in Kupang. Since its inception, the campaign has helped 514 patients.
